Along with a sound daily Face Yoga routine, a diet rich in raw fruits and vegetables can take years off your face. Your skin is the largest organ of the body and because it is permeable, whatever you put on your skin or in your body will inevitably show itself to you. Anytime you introduce a substance that the body cannot utilize or metabolize, it will be kept away from the vital organs and stored in the fatty tissue of the skin.
That’s when we can notice the appearance of blemishes, age spots, eczema, acne, uneven skin tone or rashes. Hence, why it so important to be mindful of how we nourish both the body and the skin.
What makes raw foods so special is that they have a high water content which helps to hydrate the cells of the body and flush out the toxins that stagnate within them. The water in raw foods and vegetables is “structured”, meaning that the molecules found within are recognized by the body and can easily access the cells. Hydrated cells produce hydrated and plump skin.
It is known that free radicals generate oxidative stress and can cause damage to the various organs and tissues of the body, resulting in premature aging. So, it makes sense that a diet high in anti-oxidants can assist the body in eliminating them to maintain a healthy balance. Of course, there are many factors that contribute to an overload of free radicals in the body but it has been shown that a healthy lifestyle, including diet and exercise, can make a big difference in keeping the balance in check.
The beauty of raw foods is that the body recognizes it as ideal food and doesn’t have to overwork itself to digest and assimilate it. Raw fruits and vegetables contain live enzymes that help to digest a great portion of that particular food eaten whereas cooked and processed foods are enzymatically dead.
The process of cooking our food destroys the live enzymes that are essential for optimal skin health. Therefore, eating an abundance of raw foods on a daily basis can relieve your body from having to work overtime to produce the necessary enzymes needed to digest your food. This means it can dedicate much more of its’ efforts to beautifying your skin, hair and nails.
Does this mean that you must only eat raw foods in order to see the benefits? Absolutely not. Yet, there’s something delightful in developing a simple and committed relationship with raw fruits and vegetables, in observing the positive effects they can have on the body and mind and in making small changes that can help you connect to yourself in a more intimate way.
As a general rule, a simple diet that includes includes raw, whole and fresh produce and little to no processed foods, will beautify your skin effortlessly from the inside out.
I find value in uniting the art of Face Yoga and the art of simple eating with an emphasis on raw, living foods because they compliment each other so nicely in achieving a more youthful appearance.
The process of adding healthy foods to your daily regime goes hand in hand with releasing the unhealthy ones and, as you do so, you will begin to see a real change happening in your face.
It’s important to remember that your body is a reflection of all your experiences and choices, therefore, it’s wise to go slowly and give it the time needed to adapt to a new way of living, one step at a time.
It’s never about forcing a change but rather about becoming mindful and learning to make choices that help you look and feel your very best.

There’s truth in the saying that “the best diet for you is the one you can stick to”. Even when we follow a strict protocol, we tend to reshape it to make it work for us because what we put in our bodies is a very personal experience. Therefore, if you wish to make positive changes to your lifestyle, you should always listen to your own guidance and go with your body rather than against it.
There’s no rush, no competition and no deadlines to meet. And you also don’t have to revolutionize your current regime in order to make it fit into a dogmatic ideal. The choice of food, however, can either devitalize or vitalize you; that’s for you to determine. As you experiment with the dietary suggestions given in the sessions, you may pleasantly find they add value to your life.
I enjoy helping people become more knowledgable about the effects different foods have on the body and I offer simple ways to nourish oneself with love. Face Yoga helps you come face to face with your everyday choices and offers the opportunity to adopt a friendly and respectful approach toward your body’s needs and demands. It’s important to note that diets come and go but a self care lifestyle that focuses on a mindful and simple way of eating, will bring you stability and joy for a lifetime.
One way to become acquainted with raw foods is to switch up your breakfast with fresh fruit.
Prepare a big bowl of your favorite fruit and eat it in abundance until you are satisfied.
It’s quite simple and you will possibly come to enjoy eating only fruit for breakfast once you begin to feel the clarity and energy it provides and see the beautifying effects it has on your skin. Fruit aids the body’s detoxifying process and hydrates from the inside out. You will notice that your skin becomes softer and your complexion clearer. Fruit is more effective than any cream or serum.
